The people should choose their representative. The representatives should not be choosing their constituents. As our districts are drawn to ensure a particular party wins, then the most “Republican” or most “Democratic” candidates will keep winning. This means that we will further push our parties further apart. We need to go back to a sense of normality in politics. That starts with ending gerrymandering. If elected, I will introduce legislation that will draw our districts with a computer algorithm. This algorithm will remove the partisanship out of the redistricting process.
